Maxine White is a new and upcoming artist in Greenville, S.C. A Greenville County resident, she has lived in the Sterling Community for the last 10 years . For the past 17 years she has been married to Mr. Jesse White. They have two lovely sons; Jaleel, 12 and Princeton, 4. She is a graduate of Travelers Rest High School, class of 1986. In the year following her graduation she attended tne Art Institute of Atlanta pursuing her first love, art. She is a former Head Start teacher who enjoyed creating art with the children under her care.
In 2006, she decided to focus on her art full time. She had begun to realize God had given her a gift and a desire to share it with others. Her passion is painting murals. She is creating a mural for Sterling Community Center that has to be seen to be believed. It is a wonderful depiction of the past and the future to come here at Sterling. When painting, she becomes so engaged with her art, that she forgets what is going on around her.
For Ms. White, it has not been easy following her dream with little or no income to start with. But she is convinced that great things are yet to come if she continues to put God first in her life.
